Levi ice fishing prices, lunch and extras included
The cheapest ice fishing trip from Levi costs ~$99 and lasts about two and a half hours, soup included. The dearest is a five-hour snowmobile day at ~$234 with a lunch cooked on the fire. Between them sit three trips with quite different ideas of what your money buys.
Five trips from Levi on one table
The table shows the regular "from" price per person on GetYourGuide for the five trips on our home page. The figure on the booking page can move a little with the date you choose, so read it as a starting point.
| Tour | From | Length | Getting there | Group | Food | Winter clothing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Safartica, snowmobile safari with lunch (our pick) | ~$234 | 5 h | Snowmobile, two to a sled | Up to 50 | Lappish soup on an open fire, hot drinks | Included |
| Beyond Arctic, frozen lake with photos | ~$117 | 3.5 h | Minivan, about 20 minutes | Up to 8 | Campfire with hot drinks and snacks | Not listed |
| Keo Wilderness, salmon soup trip | ~$99 | 2.5 h | Pickup and drop-off | Up to 8 | Hot salmon soup, a hot drink, cookies | Thermal clothing (Viator listing) |
| Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park, by snowmobile | ~$190 | 3 h | Shared snowmobile | Up to 15 | No meal listed | Overall, boots, gloves, helmet |
| Safartica, by car | ~$122 | 2.5 h | Warm car | Up to 20 | Hot drinks | Included, wool socks too |
Every one of the five cancels free until 24 hours before the start, on both booking sites. With weather in Lapland able to turn overnight, that rule matters more than a few dollars between two similar fares.
The three cheaper trips go by road
Keo Wilderness at ~$99 is the lowest fare here. You get about two and a half hours with a group of eight at most, hot salmon soup with a drink and cookies, and a heated wooden shelter for warming up between spells at the hole.
The downsides are length and track record. It is the shortest trip of the five and has 28 reviews on GetYourGuide (4.5), so there is less to go on than with the bigger operators.

Beyond Arctic's afternoon on a frozen lake at ~$117 runs longer (about three and a half hours), and the guide also works as a photographer, so a few pictures come with the fare. Food is a campfire with hot drinks and snacks, even though the listing title says BBQ.
Winter clothing is not on that listing, which is the one gap in an otherwise generous trip. Ask the operator before you go, or plan your own layers with our guide to dressing for a frozen lake.
Safartica's trip by car at ~$122 costs a little more for the same two and a half hours as Keo. The extra buys a full set of winter gear, from thermal overalls down to wool socks, but the only food is a hot drink.
The lowest fare with a hot meal
Keo Wilderness keeps the group to eight and serves salmon soup in a heated wooden shelter. A good first taste of the ice if you would rather not ride a snowmobile.
Why the snowmobile trips cost more
A sled with its fuel, plus a helmet for every pair of guests, pushes the two snowmobile trips well above the road ones. Our snowmobile and minivan comparison covers how the ride itself feels.
Safartica's five-hour safari at ~$234 is our pick, with 4.9 from 200+ reviews on GetYourGuide. The fare covers winter clothing, a shared sled, the fishing, a Lappish soup cooked on an open fire and hot drinks before the ride back.
Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park at ~$190 is cheaper in total but runs three hours and lists no meal. It reaches a lake you can only get to by sled, and it has the lowest score of the five, 4.4 from 84 reviews.
What an hour on the ice costs
Divide each fare by its length and the order changes. Beyond Arctic comes out lowest per hour, with Keo close behind, because it runs an hour longer for not much more money.
Safartica's safari lands in the middle once you count its five hours and a cooked lunch. The car trip and Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park sit at the top, the second one by a clear margin, since three hours with no food is a short day for that fare.
Per hour is a rough guide, not the whole story. Part of every trip is the drive or ride out and back, and the snowmobile trips spend more of their clock in transit.
Extras the fares leave out
- Pickup on Safartica's safari, offered within about 10 km (6 miles) of the office, but only if you ask at least 48 hours ahead
- A driver's licence for whoever steers the snowmobile, which costs nothing but can stop you on the day if forgotten
- A tip for the guide if you wish (never required)
- Your own layers under the lent overalls, since thin cotton will not keep you warm for long
The second rider on a shared snowmobile pays the same per person fare as the driver. Two friends sharing a sled therefore pay twice the figure on the listing, not one sled price.
A fishing licence is not an extra on any of these trips. Our page on fishing rules explains why, and what changes if you want to fish on your own later.
Which fare fits which traveller
On a tight budget or with children? Start with Keo or the Safartica car trip; our guide to fishing with children compares the two. Both are short enough to fit around a ski morning.
If you want the full Lapland day with a sled ride and lunch by the fire, the Safartica safari gives the most for its price. Fish are never guaranteed on any trip, so pay for the day out, not for a catch. Our page on what lives under the ice explains why.
